What is Permanent Makeup?

This medically developed procedure is a revolutionary way of implanting color pigment into the skin to create a lasting cosmetic effect. A safe and effective procedure, micropigmentation is performed by depositing pigment into the skin with a specially designed motorized instrument and a sterile needle or group of needles. Micropigmentation can be performed to enhance the eyes, eyebrows and lips. Your makeup can be as soft or as dramatic as you like. It can also be used to camouflage scars and burns, as well as give the nipple areola complex a more natural appearance following breast reconstruction surgery.

Is the procedure safe?

YOU’nique Images follows strict hygiene and sterilization procedures that conform to OSHA and CDC (Center of Disease Control) guidelines. Every client is administered an allergy test prior to the procedure. All materials are disposed of properly and never reused. Semiannual inspections are performed by a physician.

Is the procedure painful?

A topical anesthetic is applied prior to and during every application. This numbs the epidermis and the pain is minimized. The Nouveau Contour 600 is the newest technique used in the application of permanent makeup. This equipment is quieter which creates a more soothing environment. Smaller needles an a different angle minimize the discomfort.

How long is the recovery period?

There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin which will subside quickly. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color.

Will I need a touchup?

For the first week or so the intensity of your Permanent Makeup will be much stronger than the final color will be up to 50% more intense. During the healing process, 30%-60% of the color will be lost.
